Improper wiring can lead to fires and failed components. There are a lot of shortcuts we see come into the shop when it comes to wiring. Take your time and do it the right way the first time. Use the correct gauge wire, solder the connections, and apply heat shrink tube with dielectric grease to keep the corrosion out. The other option is to use Weather Pack Connectors to keep the moisture out. If you don’t wire it right the first time it won’t last very long before it’s time to wire it again.
